Remembering a legend. Honoring a legacy.
Tom Boothe
The Man, The Myth, The Legend
Early on in the conceptional phase of this project, we connected with an unassuming gentleman with a hankering for all things paddling - little did we know he also brought with him a hulking ability to get things done - enter Tom Boothe. As soon as Tom engaged in this fun project, this project “eddied out” and hit the thalweg in grand style, accelerating downstream as community partners were leveraged, funding was secured, and validity was added to the project. Tom had an amazing way of connecting with people, moving things forward, and ultimately having a huge positive impact on his community through the many different projects he was engaged with. Before his untimely passing in the fall of 2020, Tom had brought the whitewater park project along from its infancy to a place of professionalism and maturity, from a nascent mountain trickle to a raging torrent of activity with this idea surfing high and dry in the center of the community. We are forever grateful to Tom’s contribution to the project, and are overjoyed to name it in Tom’s honor.
